A complete point of sale for small food businesses, with an AI agent built in. The owner asks for a change in plain words, the agent plans it as tool calls on live store data, and nothing is written until they approve it.

01Why we built it

Why Agent of Point

Running a small food business means doing every job at once: taking orders, keeping the kitchen moving, counting stock, chasing suppliers, closing out the till and doing the books after hours. Most owners either hire for it or do it all themselves late at night.

Agent of Point changes that split. It’s a complete point of sale with an agent built in, running on the same harness we use for our clients’ agent tooling. The owner asks for what they need in plain words, the agent does the routine work, and only the decisions that need a person come back to them.

The result: a business that would take several people to run can be run by one, without giving up control.

02What it is

A full point of sale, with the agent built in

  • No hardware to buy

Customers tap their card on the phone that rings the order. A tablet at the counter is optional.

  • Every AI change is approved

Lookups run on their own. Changes wait for a tap, show before and after, and can be reverted.

  • A full point of sale, not an add-on

Register, payments, menu, stock, refunds, loyalty, staff, cash drawer and books in one app.

03What's in it

Everything a counter needs, from the first ticket to the Z report

  • P/01

    Register

Photo menu, options with surcharges, kitchen notes, custom amounts, discounts, and hold and resume.

  • P/02

    Payments

Tap to pay, cash, bank QR, gift cards and pay links. Split a bill up to four ways.

  • P/03

    Orders

One queue for counter and kitchen, delivery-app orders, and catering bookings with deposits and reminders.

  • P/04

    Menu and stock

Recipes deduct ingredients on every sale. Low stock turns into draft supplier orders.

  • P/05

    Customers

Members, points, a Gold tier and promos that stack in a fixed, fair order.

  • P/06

    Cash and books

Refunds, cash drawer and Z report, sales tax by jurisdiction, and a quarterly return drafted for review.

  • P/07

    Staff and security

Counter PINs, owner sign-in by face or fingerprint, remote approvals, roles, time clock, shifts and backups.

  • P/08

    The agent

Prices, 86s, allergens, promos, tickets, supplier drafts, expenses and a weekly brief, all from one thread.

04How it works

Up and running in three steps

  1. 1

    Ring sales at the counter

Staff sign in with their own PIN and ring orders on a phone or tablet. Every sale writes to the one ledger the books and the tax return read from.

  2. 2

Ask the agent in plain words

The owner asks for a change, like "86 Jamaica, pastor to $4.75". The agent plans it as tool calls on live store data.

  3. 3

    Approve what matters

Lookups run on their own. Changes wait for a tap and can be reverted. Anything that moves money stays with a person.

05How the agent works

The agent can change the store. It can't move the money.

Every request becomes a list of tool calls the owner can read. Each tool has one of three levels, set by what it touches.

  • Reads run on their ownSales, stock, members, promos and taxes. Looking something up never changes it.inventory.list · books.query_sales
  • Changes wait for a tapPrices, 86s, allergens, promos, tickets and supplier drafts. Each shows before and after and can be reverted. Price changes and deep discounts need the owner.menu.update_price · promo.create
  • Money stays with peopleRefunds, sending supplier orders, texting customers and filing tax returns. The agent can prepare them. It can never run them.payments.refund · messages.send_sms

Every action, by staff or by the agent, is written to the activity log with a name and a time.

About the technology
The owner asks: 86 Jamaica, pastor to $4.75. The agent looks up the menu on its own, then two changes wait for a tap: hide Agua de Jamaica, and raise the pastor taco from $4.50 to $4.75, which needs the owner's approval. Approve all and Reject all buttons sit below.
Changes wait for a tap
A supplier order the agent drafted waits for approval. Sending the orders is blocked: Owner-only. I can draft supplier orders, but sending one spends money, so that tap stays yours.
Money stays with people

06Who's holding it

Staff run the counter. The owner approves from anywhere.

Every action has a person behind it. The device decides how they prove who they are, and their role decides what they see.

Shared counter device

Signed in to the store. Unlocked by a PIN.

  • Each person has their own 4-digit PIN, and every sale is logged under it.
  • It locks when idle, and five wrong PINs lock the keypad and alert the owner.
  • A cashier sees the register and orders, nothing else.
Refund or big discount

A manager PIN at the counter, or one tap on the owner's phone.

Owner's own phone

Signed in to a person. Unlocked by face or fingerprint.

  • The full back office, the books and the agent, in the owner's pocket.
  • Approves counter requests remotely, and refunds ask to unlock again.
  • Switch account or sign out. Each account sees only its role.

08FAQ

Agent of Point questions

When can I start using Agent of Point?

Not yet. It works end to end as a prototype today. Next come the backend, real card processing and a live AI model behind the same tools and approval rules, then pilots with restaurants on their own devices. The waitlist opens soon.

Who is it for?

Small food businesses, such as taquerias, cafés and bakeries, where one or two people cover jobs that would normally need a whole team.

What devices does it run on?

The phones and tablets you already have, on iOS or Android. Customers tap their card on the phone, so there's no card reader to buy. A tablet at the counter is optional.

Can the agent spend money without asking me?

No. Lookups run on their own and changes wait for your tap. Anything that moves money, like a refund or sending a supplier order, can only be done by a person. The agent can prepare it but never run it.

Can I undo what the agent did?

Yes. Every change shows before and after, and each one can be reverted on its own. Everything, by staff or by the agent, is in the activity log with a name and a time.

How much will it cost?

We'll announce pricing before launch. People on the waitlist hear first.
